Incident Summary:

08/27/2009: On Thursday at 2330, in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, Abdullah al-Asiri detonated explosives hidden in his underwear in an attempt to kill Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, Saudi Arabian Deputy Minister of the Interior. Prince Nayef sustained minor injuries and al-Asiri, the younger brother of Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula bomb-maker Ibrahim Hassan al-Asiri, was killed. AQAP claimed responsibility for the attack.
