Incident Summary:

09/29/2009: On Tuesday morning at about 0900, in Maywand, Kandahar, Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device exploded when it was struck by a passenger bus, killing 20 civilians and 10 children, injuring 39 civilians and children, and destroying the Mercedes bus. The road is a well-traveled route for NATO and Afghan government military convoys, and civilian vehicles are often hit as well. No group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed the Taliban was responsible.
