Incident Summary:

12/28/2009: On Monday at about 0100, in Komanapalli village, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, India, assailants dragged the village mayor, Kaviti Rajulu, and his family members from their home and fired upon them, killing the mayor and his uncle and wounding three family members. No group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed a Maoist faction was responsible.
