Incident Summary:

09/29/2010: On Wednesday evening, in Yashbum, Shabwa province, Yemen, unidentified gunmen armed with machine guns and rocket propelled grenades ambushed a convoy carrying the governor of Shabwa, Ali al-Ahmadi, and senior Defense Ministry officials and army Chief of Staff Gen. Salem Qutn. Three soldiers were killed and five others were wounded during the exchange of fire, although the governor, Defense Ministry officials and the army chief of Staff all escaped unharmed. No damage was reported and no group claimed responsibility, although Al Qaeda Organization in the Arabian Peninsula is suspected.
