08/25/2011: On Thursday evening, in the Abu Khasib district, Basra, Al Basrah, Iraq, an unknown suicide bomber detonated a vehicle borne improvised explosive device targeting the Dawood al-Ashoor mosque. The blast killed three civilians, wounded 35 others, and set fire to nearby cars and shops and caused an unknown amount of property damage to the mosque. No group claimed responsibility.
