Incident Summary:

12/19/2011: At least five unidentified attackers stole a car from a local resident in Gubden, Dagestan, Russia, and used it to commit a suicide attack against the local police station. The bomb was detonated nearly a dozen meters from the building, causing some damage. 40 to 50 minutes later, the attackers opened fire on the police station, but the police reported that no police were injured. The only fatality was the man driving the car when it exploded. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the motive behind the attack is unclear.
