Incident Summary:

01/31/2012: Assailants attacked a Frontier Corps (FC) checkpoint near Margat coalmines, Quetta city, Balochistan province, Pakistan. This was one of four attacks on FC checkpoints in Balochistan on this date. Eighteen people were killed and 12 injured across the four attacks. In this particular attack, three FC soldiers were kidnapped and killed 33 days later after a kangaroo court found them guilty of torturing group members. A Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) spokesperson claimed that the attacks were in response to the killings of Nawab Akbar Bugti's granddaughter and great-granddaughter.
