03/01/2012: Assailants shot and killed four Joint Task Force (JTF) soldiers at the Okpoama River junction on the Brass waterway in Brass village, Bayelsa state, Nigeria. This was one of two related attacks targeting security forces in Bayelsa on this day. The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) claimed responsibility for the attack.
