Incident Summary:

04/15/2012: Assailants attacked Bannu prison in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Four police offiers were injured and 384 prisoners were freed during the raid that lasted for more than two hours. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the group intended to free its members from the prison. The Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) also claimed responsibility for the incident.
