06/24/2012: Assailants attacked the Yobe prison in Damaturu area, Yobe state, Nigeria. Two assailants were killed, an unknown number of police officers were injured, and 40 prison inmates escaped as a result of the assault. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed it to Boko Haram.
