Incident Summary:
07/08/2012: Gunmen fired on a funeral in the Barkin Ladi area in Plateau state, Nigeria. The funeral was a mass burial for victims of the attacks on Christian villages on July 7, 2012. At least 22 people died in the attack, including a federal senator and a state lawmaker. Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the shootings; however, local officials blamed Fulani militants.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
