08/09/2013: Assailants shot and killed a village elder, Simon Ch Marak, in Koksi Nengsat village, East Garo Hills district, Meghalaya state, India. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attribute the attack to the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA), saying it killed Marak because he was a police informer.
