Incident Summary:

08/17/2013: Assailants kidnapped five engineers in Tala Wa Barfak district, Baghlan province, Afghanistan. The engineers, who were working for the Energy and Water Ministry and the Ministry of Mines and Industry, were rescued by local residents on August 27, 2013. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.
