08/17/2013: Assailants kidnapped five students on their way to study at Mogadishu University on the road between Leego and Wanlaweyn in Yaaq Bari Weyne, Lower Shebelle, Somalia. At least one person was wounded in the attack. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to Al-Shabaab.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
