09/04/2013: Assailants abducted two Catholic school teachers in Tairan area, Basilan province, Philippines. The victims, Frederick Banot and Cherden Masong, were released by their captors on October 17, 2013. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities attributed the incident to the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG).
