Incident Summary:

09/10/2013: Assailants forced Ishwar Chandra Sodi out of his house and opened fire on him in Kottamateru village, Malkangiri district, Odisha state, India. Sodi, the village head, was killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Maoists and speculated that the assailants believed Sodi was a police informer.
