Incident Summary:

09/16/2013: Assailants kidnapped two Spanish journalists and four Free Syrian (FSA) Army members near the town of Tal Abyad, Ar Raqqah governorate, Syria. The four FSA members were released on September 28th; journalists Javier Espinosa and Ricardo Garcia Vilanova were released on March 29, 2014. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attribute the incident to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
