Incident Summary:
09/23/2013: An explosive device planted underneath a police van detonated on Quetta-Chaman highway near Saranan area, Pishin district, Balochistan province, Pakistan. At least five people, including four police officers, were killed and another five were injured in the blast. Shahidullah Shahid, spokesperson for Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the incident, stating that they carried out the attack "to avenge [the] killing of our men by the army in a recent staged encounter."

Criteria
Criteria 1
