09/23/2013: An explosive device detonated prematurely as assailants were planting it in Shindand district, Herat province, Afghanistan. One assailant was killed and another two were injured in the blast. Sources speculated that the device was intended to target security forces. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities attributed the attempted attack to the Taliban.
