Incident Summary:

10/08/2013: Assailants attacked police checkposts in Gizab district, Uruzgan province, Afghanistan. At least 17 people, four police officers and 13 assailants, were killed and five police officers were injured in the ensuing clash which lasted until Wednesday, October 9, 2013. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
