Incident Summary:

10/14/2013: Assailants wearing Nigerian army uniforms kidnapped Augusta Douglas-Ayam from her store in Ogbia town, Bayelsa state, Nigeria. Douglas-Ayam, the sister of the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Research and Documentation, was released unharmed about 11 days later, on or around October 25, 2013. The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) claimed responsibility for the incident.
