12/25/2013: Assailants set a Christian church on fire in Likoni division, Mombasa county, Kenya. There were no reported casualties; however, the church was damaged in the attack. This was one of two attacks on churches in the area on the same day. No group claimed responsibility for the coordinated incidents; however, police sources speculated that Al-Shabaab may have been behind the attacks.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
