Incident Summary:

03/09/2014: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden tanker truck at a security checkpoint in Hillah city, Babil governorate, Iraq. In addition to the bomber, at least 50 people were killed and 153 others were wounded in the blast. This was one of six attacks conducted by the same group around Iraq on this day. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
