03/11/2014: An explosive device detonated prematurely as it was being transported to an unknown target in North Sinai governorate, Egypt. Tawfiq Mohammed Fareej, a founding member of Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis (Ansar Jerusalem), was killed in the blast. Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis (Ansar Jerusalem) claimed responsibility for the incident several days later.
