11/05/2014: An assailant drove a vehicle into civilians at a light rail stop in Jerusalem city, Jerusalem district, Israel. At least four people, including a police officer and the assailant, were killed and 12 others, including one citizen of the United States (US), were wounded in the attack. Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement) claimed responsibility and stated that the incident was in retaliation for alleged abuses at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. For example, in a typical successful bombing, the bomb detonates and destroys property and/or kills individuals, whereas an unsuccessful bombing is one in which the bomb is discovered and defused or detonates early and kills the perpetrators.
