Incident Summary:

12/06/2014: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle near the Syrian Armed Forces (SAF) Airbase outside of Deir ez-Zor city, Deir ez-Zor governorate, Syria. The bombing was followed by projectile fire and clashes between assailants and government forces. At least 111 people, including 51 soldiers and 60 assailants, were killed and an unknown number of people were injured in the assault. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
