07/31/2015: Assailants kidnapped four journalism students in Mosul city, Nineveh, Iraq. One of the students was released sometime after the abduction while the three remaining victims were killed on August 5, 2015. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
