11/06/2015: Assailants abducted Ahmad Akhmij at a checkpoint in Sirte city, Sirte district, Libya. Akhmij, a colonel in the Sebha police, was released on November 18, 2015. No group claimed responsibility for the abduction; however, sources attributed it to Tripoli Province of the Islamic State.
