Incident Summary:

12/08/2015: Assailants attacked a military installation at the Kandahar airport in Kandahar, Afghanistan. At least seven civilians were taken hostage to be used as shields during the fighting that lasted into the next day. At least 64 people and nine assailants were killed and 37 people were injured in the ensuing clash; the victims included security force members and civilians. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
