12/22/2015: Assailants fired mortars at the Harabesh Primary School in Deir ez-Zor city, Deir ez-Zor governorate, Syria. At least nine children were killed and 20 other people were wounded in the attack. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
