Incident Summary:

01/07/2016: An assailant armed with a knife and a fake explosives-laden belt attempted to attack a police station in Goutte d'Or, Paris, France. Police officers shot and killed the assailant and there were no other reported casualties. The assailant, identified as Sallah Ali, stated that the attack was carried out in retaliation for French military operations in Syria. Ali also pledged allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
