01/18/2016: An assailant threw an explosive device that failed to detonate in front of a police station in Matibay village, Lamitan, Basilan province, Philippines. This was one of two related bombing attacks in Basilan on this date. No group claimed responsibility for the attack; however, sources attributed the attack to the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG).
