Incident Summary:

01/29/2016: Assailants opened fire on Muhammad Zubair Khaksar in Surkh Rod district, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan. Khaksar, a journalist and cultural adviser to the governor, was killed in the assault. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. Sources also suspected that the attack may have been carried out by the Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State.
