03/04/2016: Assailants attacked a Catholic retirement home in Shaykh Uthman, Adan, Yemen. At least 16 people were tied up and killed, several people were injured, and a priest was abducted during the raid. The priest was released on September 11, 2017. The Adan-Abyan Province of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident.
