04/01/2016: Assailants, including two suicide bombers, attacked security forces in Kharirdan, Nineveh, Iraq. Security members repelled the assault, killing 27 assailants. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
