Incident Summary:

04/20/2016: Eight assailants opened fire on a police van in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Four police officers were killed and three people were injured in the assault. This was one of two related attacks targeting police officers in Orangi Town neighborhood on this date. Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a subgroup of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the incidents and stated that the attacks were carried out in retaliation for the death of its members by Karachi authorities. However, sources also attributed the incidents to Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.
