05/11/2016: An explosive device detonated and assailants opened fire targeting a military convoy near Gao, Mali. A colonel and a soldier were killed and one person was wounded in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Muslim extremists. Source also suspected the involvement of Tauregs.
