Incident Summary:

05/18/2016: An explosive device detonated targeting police and rescue officials responding to an earlier attack in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. At least one police officer was killed and 15 people, including civilians and security personnel, were injured in the blast. This was one of two coordinated bombings in Peshawar on this date; this second bombing took place as officials arrived at the scene of the first attack. Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a subgroup of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and the Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State separately claimed responsibility for the incidents.
