Incident Summary:
05/23/2016: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated near bus station in Jableh, Lattakia, Syria. A suicide bomber then detonated inside the station. This was one of six coordinated attacks in Tartus and Jableh and one of three bombings in Jableh on the same day. At least 108 people, including three suicide bombers, were killed across all three Jableh incidents. The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility and stated that the attacks were carried out in retaliation for Syrian and Russian airstrikes.
