Incident Summary:

08/26/2016: Assailants armed with firearms attacked Jani Khel district in Paktia, Afghanistan. At least five police officers were killed and five others were injured while the assailants also sustained an unknown number of casualties in the ensuing clash. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident. Sources also attributed the attack to the Haqqani Network.
