Incident Summary:

09/28/2016: An explosive device detonated near Indian Armed Forces soldiers in Karel Valley, Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh, India. Following the blast, assailants then opened fire on the soldiers. At least one soldier was killed and two others were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Maoists.
