10/17/2016: Assailants raided a military base in Gashagar, Borno, Nigeria. An unknown number of soldiers were killed and 22 soldiers were injured in the attack. In addition, assailants abducted at least 46 soldiers, and the outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. The Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram, also known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), claimed responsibility for the incident.
