Incident Summary:
11/04/2016: An assailant opened fire on United States Army Special Forces soldiers at the entrance to Prince Faisal Airbase in Jafr, Maan, Jordan. At least three soldiers were killed and the assailant was injured in the assault. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources identified the assailant as a Jordanian soldier and suspected that the attack may have been carried out by Muslim extremists.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
