11/06/2016: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden ambulance before detonating his own explosives vest near the al-Askari mosque in Samarra, Saladin, Iraq. In addition to the assailant, at least 11 people were killed and 100 people were injured in the blasts. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incident.
