Incident Summary:

01/08/2017: Assailants armed with firearms attacked Gidan Dadi village in Demsa district, Adamawa, Nigeria. This was one of three coordinated incidents in Demsa on the same day. At least three police officers, two civilians, and an unknown number of assailants were killed and two police officers were kidnapped across all three assaults. Both kidnapped officers were found dead the following day, on January 9, 2017. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attacks to Fulani extremists.
