Incident Summary:
02/28/2017: Assailants hijacked a pickup truck carrying two civilians in Tha Muang, Songkhla, Thailand. The two hostages were killed and their bodies were discovered the following day. This was one of two related attacks in Thepha district on this date. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources suspected that Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) may have carried out the attacks.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
