Incident Summary:
03/08/2017: A suicide bomber detonated on the dance floor at a wedding in Hajjaj, Saladin, Iraq. This was one of three coordinated attacks at the wedding over a short period of time. In addition to the assailant, at least 26 people were killed and 25 other people were injured across all three incidents. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. Success is not judged in terms of the larger goals of the perpetrators.
