03/10/2017: Assailants abducted eight Samaritan's Purse aid workers near Mayendit, Unity district, Southern Liech, South Sudan. The hostages were released unharmed on March 14, 2017. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources suspected that the attack was carried out by the Sudan People's Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO), which denied involvement.
