Incident Summary:

03/19/2017: Assailants ambushed a vehicle carrying DAR Petroleum Operating Company workers in Paloch, Northern Upper Nile, South Sudan. The driver of the vehicle was killed and four workers were abducted in the assault. Two hostages were killed on or before March 26, 2017, and one hostage was released on March 30, 2017. The fate of the remaining hostage is unknown. The Sudan People's Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) claimed responsibility for the attack and demanded that oil companies halt production in South Sudan.
