Incident Summary:

03/31/2017: Assailants abducted Jaga Rao from his residence in Malkangiri district, Odisha, India. Rao, a village guard, was killed shortly after the kidnapping and his body was discovered the following day on April 1, 2017. This was one of two similar attacks in Malkangiri district on this date. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Maoists and stated that the victim was accused of being a police informant.
